Dear Prayer Partners,
Thank you for joining us as ICEJ supporters around the world pray together during the month of September. Let us give thanks to God that we live in this generation, when God is restoring an understanding of His eternal covenants with Israel and the Jewish people and His special foretold role for the Church.
Let us rejoice that for decades Christians have responded to the call of Isaiah 49:22: “Thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders…’”
And to Isaiah 66:20: “’Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the Lord out of all nations, on horses and in chariots and in litters, on mules and on camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,’ says the Lord, ‘as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.’”
We began this year committed to paying for the Aliyah flights of 1,000 Ethiopian immigrants that the Israeli government approved. However, the government has only allowed 620 Ethiopian Jews to make Aliyah in 2019. This not only leaves 380 others waiting to come to Israel, but it leaves more than 7,000 Ethiopian Jews still living as refugees in transit camps in Ethiopia awaiting their chance to come home to Israel. Yet their longing to make the journey here only increases as they have many family members already living in Israel. Currently, there are some 148,000 Ethiopians Jews living in the land of Israel.
Join with us as we pray and remind the Lord of his words in Isaiah 43:5-6: “Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west; I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth.”
Let us say to the South: “Give them up! Do not hold them back!”
As we pray for the remaining Jews in Ethiopia, let us give thanks to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:57) He has allowed us to live in Him today!
Shalom from Jerusalem!
