Who are the kings mentioned in Revelation 1:6?

Kings and priests of this world

When we think of a king, we think of a monarch or a specific leader of a nation. But examine this verse from the Book of Revelation closer will reveal that it is Jesus who “has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen” (Rev 1:6). Jesus does not refer to a specific person, or leader or monarch but He is speaking to all of us, who believe in Him!

The believers who follow Jesus and obey His commandments are called kings and priests to His Father God! This particular reference as kings and priests is repeated in Rev 5:10. The kings and priests of the world are those who are redeemed  by Jesus to His Father God. The believers comprise tribes, tongues and nations of the world.

Furthermore in Rev 21:24 “And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in it’s light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it” (New Jerusalem). Again this is repeated in Rev 21:26.

As kings, we take rightful dominion of all that Father God has created; full of life in Christ Jesus. Jesus mentioned in John 1:4 “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” As kings, the light that comes from life in Jesus Christ and it is this light that the kings of the nations shall bring into the New Jerusalem.
